Carrollton High School GymnasiumThe existing Carrollton High School Gymnasium was completely renovated by Southern A & E in the fall of 2011. The existing building was flipped in order to accommodate a covered walkway connecting the field house to the gymnasium. The outside of the complex was completely renovated with stained brick to match the masonry of the fine arts center and iron work was added to replicate a trojan helmet. Upon entering the building, one will see two large trophy cases and a mural depicting the 1923 basketball team at Carrollton High School. The front atrium also incorporates large perforated metal acoustical panels on the ceiling to dampen the sounds of large crowds. Flat screen monitors are placed throughout the atrium and concessions area so fans enjoying a refreshment can view the action going on inside the gym. Inside the gymnasium a state-of-the-art scoreboard has been added with a video screen and a new sound system is utilized.
