Heard High SchoolHeard County High is a new three story school designed on the existing high school site. Decision to go three stories was based on limitations of the existing site and the steep hillside slope. With placements of a site retaining wall, this school was able to be designed with all the instructional units having exterior windows & walls.
First Floor includes: art, science, classrooms and administration offices with a large parking lot for staff and visitors. Second Floor houses classrooms, computer labs and media center. Second floor also has access to grade from media center and from main corridor to a covered bridge connecting to the bus canopy and a large student parking lot. The upper third level includes more classrooms, kitchen and cafeteria. The kitchen & cafeteria also has grade access for kitchen service and the cafeteria has grade access to an outside amphitheater set into the hillside.
